Jackson was appointed by the Court of Revenues as overseer "on Moody Rd., Precinct 9, from 31 mile post to County Line. He was also appointed administrator of his mother's estate on OCT 16, 1865 by the Judge of Probate Pike Co. AL along with Wm. O'Neill and Clark Frizzle. He entered the Fraternal Order of Free Masons and was initiated into Pine Level Lodge #202 on JUN 6 1857. He was 83 years old at the time of the 1900 Census, but the date of his death or place of burial are not known.
